About the Book

It's quite difficult to envisage a world or an existence without communication. Whether at an office, a bank, a store, a doctor's office, or any other public place, or at home, we all share information and ideas with other individuals on a regular basis in one way or another. The communication process is defined as the transmission of a message or information from the sender to the recipient via the use of a specified route of communication and the circumvention of communication obstacles. The process is cyclical in nature, since it begins with the sender delivering a message and concludes with the sender getting response. This process cycle occurs at all levels of the organisation, both upstream and below. Communication is a continual process that is influenced by a variety of elements. While communicating, clarity or clear communication is also an important aspect for individuals and in business communication. This book attempts to understand the multiple branches that fall under the discipline of communication and how such concepts have practical applications. It elucidates the various methods and theories of this field. It deals with linear modulation techniques, principles of baseband digital data transmission, signal and linear system analysis. It also explores probability and random variables, noise in modulation systems and advanced data communications. Coherent flow of topics, student-friendly language and extensive use of examples make this book an invaluable source of knowledge. As this field is emerging at a rapid pace, the contents of this book will help the readers understand the modern concepts and applications of the subject.
