About the Book

Control engineering is a relatively young topic of study that acquired substantial attention throughout the twentieth century as a result of technological advancements. Control engineering is critical to the design and operation of a broad variety of control systems, ranging from basic domestic washing machines to high-performance fighter aircraft. It aims to comprehend physical systems through mathematical modelling in terms of inputs, outputs, and various components with varying behaviours; to develop controllers for those systems through the use of control system design tools; and to implement controllers in physical systems through the use of available technology. This book “Control Systems Engineering” seeks to understand physical systems, using mathematical modelling, in terms of inputs, outputs and various components with different behaviours; to use control system design tools to develop controllers for those systems; and to implement controllers in physical systems employing available technology. It explores feedback characteristics of control systems, stability, observability and controllability in control systems. It also deals with frequency response analysis, digital control systems, linear control system and non-linear control system. Coherent flow of topics, student-friendly language and extensive use of examples make this book an invaluable source of knowledge. The book will serve as a valuable source of reference and will prove to be an essential guide to all those who are interested in this field.
